- "If you're going in the cantina, would you please check on my employer?"
"How long have you been waiting out here?"
"302 days. His name is Koje. He has three chin horns. I will provide compensation."
"I'll take a look, but don't get your hopes up. If your buddy is still inside the cantina after 302 days...that's a whole other problem." - ―Koje's droid talking to Kay Vess outside Chalmun's cantina
Koje was an individual with three chin horns who resided on the desert planet Tatooine with his droid[2] around 2 ABY.[1] That year, Koje owned the Hutt Cartel money which he wasn't able to pay. While still in debt to the Hutts, Koje went to Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina in Mos Eisley spaceport where he run up a fifty credits tab. Beforehand, Koje left his droid out front of the cantina in accordance with the establishment's "No droid" policy. Around the same time, Koje kept journal and in one entry he came to terms with the idea that his debt to the Hutts would likely mean his death and took solace in the fact that he would have to deal with his "annoying" droid any longer. The Hutts eventually caught up with Koje at the cantina; leaving his tab unpaid, his droid out front and a copy of his journal entry on a datapad in a backroom in the cantina.
His droid remained out front for 302 days when[2] in 3 ABY,[3] the droid meet the thief Kay Vess and requested that she check on Koje in the cantina, as well as promising her compensations. Inside, Vess learned of Koje's fate and agreed to pay off Koje's bar tab in exchange for Koje's identicard which she could use to prove his death to the droid. She later returned to the droid and relayed the news, allowing the droid to accept Koje's fate.[2]
