- "Are you sure I can't interest you in a critter? Everyone needs a pet. Perhaps a tooka cat. You're a pilot, aren't you? I'm sure my lovely Kishka here would make sure you never have another rodent problem no matter what corner of the galaxy you find yourself in, though I do hope you come back and visit."
- ―Volt Vescuso, to Izal Garsea
Kishka was a tooka cat who had tan fur with black stripes.[1] In 34 ABY,[2] Kishka was among a number of other tookas kept for sale in a crate at the Creature Stall operated by[1] the Amani[3] Bina in Black Spire Outpost on the Outer Rim planet Batuu.[1] That year,[2] when the childhood friends Izal Garsea and Julen Rakab visited the stall, Volt Vescuso—who worked at the stall—recognized Garsea as a pilot and offered to sell her Kishka as a pet, calling them "lovely" and stated the cat would ensure she did not have problems with rodents during her travels. Vescuso then pulled back the crate's canvas, showing the pilot a number of slumbering tookas including Kishka. Garsea ultimately did not purchase Kishka.[1]
Behind the scenes
Kishka appeared in the 2019 young-adult novel A Crash of Fate, written by Zoraida Córdova.[1]
