Kira III was the third planet in the Kira system.
Description
The planet was uninhabitable and had little natural resources that were worth mining.[3]
History
The planet was initially surveyed during the time of the Old Republic. While the second planet of the system, Kira II - designated Kira Prime, was deemed worthy of further developement, Kira III was classified as uninhabitable.[3]
When a follow-up survey was conducted several years later, Kira III - as well as Kira I and Kira II had been destroyed by an unknown cataclysm. The remnants of the three planets formed an instable asteroid field, which inherited the name Kira Prime.[3]
When the Kira Run was established years later, the asteroids remained a small, but constant hazard for hyperspace travel.[3]
