Kimbe was a human^[1] who worked as a Gatherer for Savi in Black Spire Outpost on Batuu. When Ylena, one of the other Gatherers, wished to see Savi in his personal workshop, Kimbe let her in.^[3]

Kimbe also instructed visitors to Savi's Workshop on building lightsabers using salvaged parts,^[4] and worked with a crew of BDX droids whose members included Red, Grek, and Oskar. The Gatherer directed the crew to take inventory for the workshop and encouraged the droids to practice their protocols in preparation for deployment in various scenarios.^[2]

Behind the Scenes

Kimbe was first introduced as a background character in the 2019 novel Galaxy's Edge: Black Spire, and then made regular appearances in the real-world Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios as a leader of the Gatherers in the lightsaber building experience at Savi's Workshop.^[5] Beginning on July 16, 2025, Kimbe hosted a show centered around the BDX droids in which they introduced the droids and had them demonstrate some of their capabilities in ways that highlighted their individual personalities.^[6] Various Cast Members portrayed Kimbe in Savi's Workshop and the limited engagement of the BDX droids at the park. These Cast Members appeared to be of diverse ethnicities and different gender identities.^[7]^[6]
