The Kieger clan was a clan on the Core Worlds planet Rhinnal. The residents of Rhinnal are fiercely loyal to the ethnic clans into which they are born. Major governmental decisions are still made by clan heads. The Kieger clan in particular controlled territory in the south of the planet, including the village of Austogie. Berra Sane was a geologist who worked for the clan as a territory scout, exploring remote areas for future land grabs.
The symbol of the Kieger clan had been a red and yellow patterned sash.
