The Kessilian civil wars were a series of conflicts fought in the Kessil system, which contained the planet Utapau. Annikin Starkiller fought in these wars, even though he was a teenager.

Some time, probably not long, after the wars, Annikin and his father Kane Starkiller were living on the Fourth Moon of Utapau near their derelict spacecraft.

Behind the scenes

In the first draft, Annikin is renamed Justin Valor. The planet Utapau is renamed Ogana. Both names were rejected or repurposed in later versions.
