- "You want some spice, old man? I got Kessel pure, glitterstim, and Felucian. What do you need?"
- ―Tetha Grig offers Obi-Wan Kenobi spice
Kessel pure was a type of spice[1] that shared its name with the planet Kessel, a known exporter of spice.[2] In 9 BBY,[3] during the Imperial Era, the young human Tetha Grig attempted to sell spice to the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi on the planet Daiyu, offering several varieties of the drug, including Kessel pure. Kenobi declined before ultimately moving on.[1]
Behind the scenes
Kessel pure was first mentioned in the second episode of the live-action television series Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi,[1] which aired on Disney+ on May 27, 2022.[4]
