The Kessel encounter was a battle fought[1] by 21 BBY,[2] by Jedi Master General Kit Fisto and Laser Company, a Republic clone trooper unit, on the planet Kessel against an anti-Republic force during the Clone Wars. Except for the trooper Checkers, all members of Laser Company were killed during the fight, and Checkers himself was severely wounded.[1]

The battle of Kessel was mentioned in Clone Wars Gambit: Stealth, a 2009 novel written by Karen Miller.[1]
