The Kauronians were a sentient species[1] native to the world Kauron in the Meram sector of the Outer Rim Territories.[2][3] In 0 BBY,[4] a number of Kauronian bounty hunters were present on the planet Tatooine. During that time, the Rodian bounty hunter Greedo watched several of them enter Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina in the Mos Eisley settlement.[1]
Behind the scenes
Kauronians appeared in "A Hunter's Fate: Greedo's Tale," a 1995 short story written by Tom and Martha Veitch that was published in the Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina anthology.[1]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. This article treats Kauron as one such homeworld with regard to the Kauronian species.
