"Oi, Kasif —you having trouble at imports 'cause of the First Order? I can't get any jewels through."
―Kamka Lira, to Kasif[5]

Kamka Lira was a Bith female, the daughter of musician parents, who had a passion for crafting handmade jewelry from a young age. After creating accessory pieces for her parents' band, Two Biths Walk into a Cantina, she started getting requests from other entertainers to work as their personal stylist. She eventually owned the Jewels of Bith shop in Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu, where she sold her creations and collection, curated from designers across the galaxy, to travelers of modest and excessive means.

Kamka Lira was an eccentric Bith female[2] who was born between 24 BBY and 14 BBY.[1] From a young age,[2] she[3] traveled with her musician parents as they took their band, Two Biths Walk into a Cantina, across the galaxy performing. Unlike many other Bith, who typically took work as musicians, scientists, or engineers, Lira always had a passion for accessories and was convinced her parents needed makeovers to elevate their performances. To that end, she created hats, scarves, and other accessories, and as she grew up, she also created jewelry to accessorize her parents' onstage look. Eventually, other entertainers requested Lira's services as their personal stylist; she had found her calling.[2]

By 34 ABY,[6] while in her fifties,[2] Lira was the proprietor of the Jewels of Bith store in Black Spire Outpost on the Outer Rim planet Batuu. At the store, she created unique pieces[3] from unusual materials such as gems, stones, rocks, shells, metals, and leather,[2] and she often brought back interesting trinkets from her travels to other planets, including a curated collection of items created by other designers from around the galaxy. While away, she had a team available to assist customers with any questions.[3] Due to her occupation as an entrepreneur, the spy Vi Moradi did not regard Lira as a viable candidate to recruit for the Resistance when establishing a Resistance presence prior to the First Order's occupation of the planet[7] that same year.[6] During the occupation, Lira was visited by a young boy traveling to Black Spire Outpost with his family.[4] Around the same time, Lira communicated her frustrations with the First Order confiscating jewelry imports with the merchant Kasif.[5] The historian Eloc Throno mentioned Lira in his book Traveler's Guide to Batuu, also written during the occupation[3] in 34 ABY.[8]

Personality and traits

"Typical. War always makes a profit."
―Lira shows distaste for Kasif[5]

Lira was passionate about fashion accessories, a trait less common among her fellow Bith. She believed that an enhanced set of outfit pieces would improve the stage presence of her parents.[2] Lira showed frustration with the First Order over the confiscation of imports and showed distaste for the war profiteering of Kasif.[5] Lira had light-gray skin and black eyes.[4]

Skills and abilities

Displaying ingenuity,[3] Lira was capable of hand-crafting popular designs from a variety of unusual materials, gaining the eye of multiple entertainers due to her skills. She was known for always creating and carrying the latest trends in her market shop.[2] A seasoned traveler, the Bith curated an impressive collection, having something of interest for those of both modest means and immense wealth.[3]

Equipment

When visited by the boy visiting Batuu, Lira wore a long-sleeve black top with a tall, upright collar and cuffs while holding a necklace.[4]

Kamka Lira was created as part of the backstory for the Jewels of Bith retail location in the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge theme park land,[2] which opened to guests at Disneyland Park on May 31, 2019.[9] While the official backstory specifies that the character is a Bith female,[2] the Star Wars: Datapad mobile application depicts Kamka as a bearded human individual.[5] Lira was first properly pictured in the 2025 Golden Books children's book Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: A Batuu Adventure!, written by Jeneanne DeBois and illustrated by Bill Robinson. In the book, Robinson depicts Lira as a Bith.[4] This article treats the information from the majority of sources as the canonical description of the character.
