Jyn Freila was a Human female from the planet Chandrila who joined the Alliance to Restore the Republic after listening to one of Mon Mothma's speeches. She flew an X-wing starfighter and led her own squadron until it was mostly destroyed during a raid on a quadanium steel shipment. After the raid, she was promoted to the rank of commander and given command of Keff Base.[1]
