Jung-ju was a type of tree that possessed strong and fibrous wood. In the decades leading up to the Great Sith War[1] of 3996 BBY,[2] it was used in the design of reinforced fiber armor, which implemented jung-ju tree fibers[1] bound[3] with synthetic materials. The resultant body armor offered durability and flexibility that could compete with light armor produced out of metallic compounds.[1]

Jung-ju was first mentioned in the 2003 BioWare video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.[3]
