«That doesn't sound good. How angry will Princess Leia be?»
«That depends on what he's smashing. If it's the singing lamp the Jumerians gave her as a wedding present, she might even thank him.»
―Mallatobuck and Chewbacca upon hearing their son, Lumpawaroo, ransacking the Solos' apartment[2]

The Jumerians were a sentient species[1] native to the Jumeria system[3] of the Core Worlds.[4] Some Jumerians later became members of the New Republic.[1] In 8 ABY,[5] a number of Jumerians presented Princess Leia Organa Solo with a singing lamp as a gift for her wedding. Although she disliked the item, she kept it in the Coruscanti apartment she shared with her husband, Han Solo.[2]

That year,[6] the Wookiees Mallatobuck and Chewbacca visited the apartment with their son Lumpawaroo, who began rummaging through the space. As the parents listened to objects breaking inside, Solo commented that while his wife might be angry about the damage depending on what items were affected, she would probably appreciate if the Jumerians' singing lamp was one of the items broken.[2]

Behind the scenes

Jumerians were first mentioned in the 2003 eBook novel A Forest Apart, written by Troy Denning.[2]
