Jeff Mackintosh was a fan of Star Wars[2] and friend of Matt Forbeck, author of the junior novelization of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Mackintosh died from brain cancer in the fall of 2016. As a tribute to his friend and with the approval of Jennifer Heddle and the Lucasfilm Story Group, Forbeck gave the name "Toshma Jefkin" to the Rebel soldier played by Christopher Patrick Nolan in the film, a tuckerization of Jeff's name.[1]
