- "A memorial that the people of New Holstice created eons ago, to honor all the Jedi killed since the birth of the Republic."
- ―A'Sharad Hett
A Jedi monument was a memorial built by the people of New Holstice to commemorate all the Jedi who had died since the birth of the Galactic Republic. A being needed only to whisper a name and the memory moth's fluttering wings would mimic back the words for eternity. Memory moths were then released into a giant cylinder where thousands more were held. Anakin Skywalker added names of his fallen comrades after the Battle of Jabiim. Mistakenly believing that his master had died during the battle, Anakin mentioned him among them.

Notes and references
- ↑ Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia places the founding of the Galactic Republic in 25,053 BBY. As Republic 58 establishes that the memorial was created to honor all the Jedi killed since the birth of the Republic, it must been created by 25,053 BBY.
