Jazen was a Human male who served as Major in the Galactic Republic during the Cold War. He was station on Taris in the Tularan Marsh where he refused the orders of Governor Saresh to hold the outpost and instead gave his soldiers the order to pull out in face of danger. Only the arrival of a Republic hero who dealt with every problem the locals had forced him to stay put.[1]
