Janna bel Arde was a female Imperial Inquisitor who lived during the Galactic Civil War. Sometime after the Battle of Yavin, Janna bel Arde was dispatched by Grand Moff Ardus Kaine to inspect the Warren, a secret Imperial research facility located on Dantooine, because its commanding officer, Bors Teraud, was suspected of treachery. Teraud was indeed a traitor and his loyalists ambushed the Inquisitor and her stormtrooper escort during the inspection. Janna bel Arde was badly wounded, captured and imprisoned, eventually dying of her injuries in her cell.[2]

Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
