- "Why, sure. It's a General Spacetronics MaKing-class transport. The rear flanges mean it's the Janako model — made locally under license. Looks to me like there's some kind of modification around the gunports — may have been upgunned."
- ―Roark Garnet
The Janako was a model of the MaKing-class transport that was manufactured by General Spacetronics and made under local license.[1] It shared its name with the Janako system of the Inner Rim.[2] The Janako featured distinguishing rear flanges and featured gunports.[1]
At one point during the Galactic Civil War between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance, the smuggler Roark Garnet was asked whether he could identify a specific starship. Garnet confidently identified it as a Janako that appeared to him to have been modified.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Janako was first mentioned in the 1987 rulebook for the first edition of West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[1]
