Jake Sirrom hailed from Dahvil, and his mother was Gem Sirrom,[1] who worked in the Senate of the Republic[4] and represented Jake's home planet[2] prior to the Republic's dissolution and the Galactic Empire forming in 19 BBY.[5] Following the Galactic Senate's dissolution, Jake's mother took him to Bespin to start a new life,[1] and Jake joined the Wing Guard protecting the planet's Cloud City[3] by 3 ABY. In that year,[5] after the Galactic Empire occupied Bespin, Sirrom was in one of Cloud City's buildings, walking along a corridor, when the city's Baron Administrator, Lando Calrissian, warned the citizens via intercom about the Imperial takeover and advised them to leave before the Imperial presence increased.[3] Sirrom was a fair-skinned Human[1] male.[2] During his service in the Bespin Wing Guard, Jake Sirrom wore the standard uniform and wielded a Relby-k23 blaster pistol.[3]
Behind the scenes
Jake Sirrom first appeared in the 1997 Special Edition release of Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, an original trilogy film that came out in 1980.[3] On March 11, 2014,[6] he was first named by the article "Rogues Gallery: The Cloud City Wing Guards" published in the Star Wars Insider magazine's 148th issue. The article was written by Kevin Beentjes, Sander de Lange, and Tim Veekhoven.[1] In terms of Sirrom's individual characteristics, the authors intended for nearly all the Wing Guard members included to be "good guys" who opposed the corruption that was prevalent under the leadership of Cloud City's previous Baron Administrator, Dominic Raynor. The only exceptions were the members who had been previously established as corrupt.[2]
