Jacobi Sterne was a Marshal on a colony world. One day, Alchibi Des, a Chevin merchant, was arrested for the murder of Seth Horgon, the son of prominant nerf rancher. Solk Horgon and his gang soon attacked the office of the Marshal where Alchibi Des was detained, with the intent of hanging the latter regardless of guilt. The Marshal and Alchibi escaped the fire fight by way of a secret tunnel.[1]
