JF-86 was a tactical droid that served in Admiral Trench's army of the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars at the Battle of Anaxes. Following the cataclysmic destruction of Anaxes near[1] the end of the war in 19 BBY,[2] JF-86 was deactivated alongside the rest of the Separatist Droid Army in a Separatist stronghold on the planetoid PM-6986 in the Anaxes asteroid belt.[1]
After the planet's destruction the stronghold's complement of Separatist battle droids was reactivated by the tactical droid, who had previously been reawakened by a Separatist signal that originated light-years away, and began to work to execute its final directive: attack the Galactic Senate on Coruscant. However, JF-86 was unaware of the events after the war, including the transformation of the Galactic Republic into the Galactic Empire.[1]
Behind the scenes
JF-86 was mentioned in Dawn of Rebellion, a roleplaying supplementary sourcebook for the Star Wars Roleplaying series that was published by Fantasy Flight Games in 2018.[1]

- ↑ Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates the mission to Mustafar, and the subsequent deactivation of the Separatist Droid Army, which marked the end of the Clone Wars to 19 BBY. As Dawn of Rebellion establishes that the Separatist holdout located on PM-6986 was founded after the Confederacy's destruction, the droid complement must have been reactivated during or after 19 BBY.
