JB-9[3] was a BB-series astromech droid,[2] manufactured by Industrial Automaton,[1] that belonged to the Droid Depot in Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu. During the First Order's occupation of Batuu[2] in 34 ABY,[4] JB-9 was displayed alongside fellow astromech droids[2] MB-12[5] and J1-B2[6] in an alcove behind one of the counters in the depot.[2] The author Eloc Throno included an image of JB-9 in his book, Traveler's Guide to Batuu,[7] which was published the same year.[8] Standing 0.67 meters tall,[1] it had black and yellow paneling and a black sensor.[2]
Behind the scenes
JB-9 appeared as a prop within the themed land Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge,[2] which opened to guests at Disneyland Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios in 2019.[9]
