Itai was a humanoid male who lived during the First Order-Resistance War. He was a prospect of the Knights of Ren, hoping to officially join the group. By 35 ABY, he served under its leader, Kylo Ren. [1]

Biography

Around 34 ABY,[2] Itai had been made a prospective Knight of Ren, and was tasked by Supreme Leader Kylo Ren to track down information related to Jedi history, including things capable of terrifying a Jedi Knight of the Old Republic. Itai hoped that if he brought Ren enough of this information, that he would be elevated to a true Knight of Ren. Eventually Itai began investigating the High Republic Era Jedi Rhea Anudis.[1]

Personality and traits

Itai used his Reaping Hook with precision to destroy his foes.

Itai used his Reaping Hook with precision to destroy his foes.

Though Itai was a powerful warrior, he could not touch the Shadow as the other Knights could, and hoped that Kylo Ren would teach him how to if he served him faithfully enough.[1]

Equipment

Itai wielded a reaping hook and traveled in a starship known as the Rivener. He was often accompanied by a droid known as Arar-Toozero.[1]

Behind the scenes

Itai first appeared and was identified in the first volume of Star Wars: Path of the Lightsaber, a manga series written and illustrated by Kenny Ruiz and published by Viz Media[1] on November 11, 2025.[3] The character was introduced in the announcement of the manga series at Star Wars Celebration Japan's "Lucasfilm Publishing: Manga Mania!" panel[4] on April 18 earlier in the year.[5] The droid was identified as "Arar-Toozero" in the first volume.[1]
