An ion rocket was a small explosive designed for use with personal weapon systems. This wrist rocket emitted a burst of energy on impact, severely damaging any droids or personal shields in the target area. The bounty hunter Mira was known to use this type of weapon toward the end of the Dark Wars.

The term "ion rocket" could also be used to refer to an ion engine.
