An ion beam was produced by the ion paddle beamer created by the Ssi-ruuk. A threadlike silvery energy beam, the ion beam was engineered to paralyze an organic being by interfering with the target's nervous system and rendering them unconscious. A glancing blow to an extremity can be numbed for several hours, and an ion beam blast at close range could kill.[1]
