The Internal Security Bureau (abbreviated ISB) was a internal intelligence and security organization of the Galactic Empire.[1] It was established in the wake of the Clone Wars[2] to protect Emperor Palpatine's new authoritarian regime against political opponents and ideological dissidents.[1] The Internal Security Bureau was the forerunner to the Imperial Security Bureau.[2]
