Incom reconnaissance craft X396 was a StealthX starfighter operated by Ohali Soroc, a Jedi Knight of the new Jedi Order. The R9-series astromech droid Nineball functioned as the starship's navigator. In 45 ABY, while searching for for the Mortis monolith, Soroc flew the StealthX to the Chiloon Rift[1] in Wild Space.[2] Soroc was ambushed by Mandalorian Bes'uliik starfighters in the Bubble of the Lost region of the Chiloon Rift near to a monolith of unknown origin. The StealthX was crippled and Soroc was captured by the Mandalorians' employer, Galactic Exploitation Technologies.[1]
The remains of the StealthX were recovered by the Mandalorians and later rigged to emit a false distress call on the RiftMesh communications network to lure the the YT-1300 light freighter Millennium Falcon, as well as a Miy'tari Scout piloted by Jedi Knights Ben Skywalker and Tahiri Veila, into an ambush.[1]
