At some point by 2 ABY,[1] at least two Galactic Empire personnel executed an enslavement raid, capturing several Wookiees and killing at least one—Zherriak—in the process. However, the group of imprisoned Wookiees overpowered the Imperials who had taken them, commandeering their starship by force. Though most of the Wookiees opted to return to their home[2]—the planet[3] Kashyyyk—in the stolen ship, the Wookiee Liak instead chose to join the Rebel Alliance to fight the Empire and avenge his close friend Zherriak.[2]
Behind the scenes
The raid was mentioned in the short story "Do No Harm," which was written by Erin Endom for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game and published in the tenth issue of Star Wars Adventure Journal in May 1996.[2]
