The Imperial Zoological Agency was a branch of the Imperial Survey Corps,[2] a part of the Navy of the Galactic Empire.[3] The duties of the Imperial Zoological Agency included the cataloging of plants and creatures on worlds newly discovered by the Empire.[2] One such locale was the planet Najarka of the Outer Rim Territories'[4] Rayter sector. There, years before the Battle of Yavin, the agency[1] discovered[5] and cataloged the kichicolia,[1] a species[5] of white-and-black-furred arboreal primate inhabiting the planet's equatorial belt of jungle.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Imperial Zoological Agency was introduced in The Abduction, a 1992 roleplaying adventure authored by Chuck Truett and published by West End Games for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[1]
