Imperial trackers were soldiers within the Galactic Empire. They were aliens who operated on Yavin.

Behind the scenes

Trackers were characters that appeared in the 1974 rough draft of Star Wars. George Lucas planned on revisiting the idea by having them appear in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, then titled Revenge of the Jedi, but they were cut in the final version. Jonathan W. Rinzler, when reviewing the design concepts for their appearance in Jedi mentioned that they would appear in The Star Wars 2013 comic adaptation. He refused to state the exact nature of their actions on Yavin, although he stated that the actions were "not pretty."
