After the Battle of Yavin and the destruction of the Death Star a unit of four Imperial Tartan patrol cruisers were tasked in defending a damaged Imperial Acclamator assault ship that had survived the battle. When crime lord Tyber Zann entered Yavin space in search of Data pods left behind in the wreckage of the Death Star, these Tartan patrol cruisers betrayed the Acclamator they were protecting and defected to the Zann Consortium. They then assisted Tyber in retrieving the Data pods, before an Imperial fleet arrived and the unit of Tartan cruisers retreated with Tyber's fleet to The Maw.
