The Imperial Department for Epidemic Prevention hired hunters on Tatooine to kill wild creatures that were suspected to be carrying droch eggs in order to prevent an outbreak of Death Seed there in 1 ABY.[1] It is unknown what their relationship was to the Imperial medical service, which also worked to combat plagues.
