An identidisc was a form of identification used in Moff Bandor's palace on the planet Questal. Identidiscs were encoded to allow access to certain areas of the palace depending upon the position of the individual holding them. Bureaucrats working in the palace had identidiscs that allowed them access to the Executive and Office levels, while maintenance workers were issued ones that gave them access to the Executive, Office, and Security levels. A supply of visitor identidiscs, which allowed access to the Office level only, were stored in a locked desk in the reception area. Droids in the palace were programmed to only answer questions if an individual was carrying an identidisc. If an identidisc was not produced, the droid would inform the individual they were unescorted in a restricted area, then report the unauthorized presence at a convenient time.[1]
