Coronet Gossip was a sensationalist Corellian newspaper published in Coronet City during the Galactic Civil War.[1]

"I was attacked by a 50 meter spider!!" was an article published on the front page of Coronet Gossip[1] in 1 ABY.[2] The article investigated the discovery of mutations in common animal species,[1] giving rise to bigger, larger and more aggressive creatures.[3] The article focused particularly on Bane Back spider, a mutated variant[1] of gaping spider.[3]

The article contained the interview of an individual named Geeot Nuetia who claimed that he was attacked by a 50-meter tall spider during a hunting trip to Dathomir. Nuetia pretended that he killed the beast with a thermal detonator. Later, a journalist of Coronet Gossip went to Dathomir to investigate the creature. A Nightsister of the Spiderclan confirmed the recent emergence of the Bane Back spiders but the reporter could only found 2-3 meters tall spiders.[1]

"It was 50 meters tall! It had fangs growing out of it's back! Its back ridges were razor sharp! I only survived because of my lucky thermal detonator!" screams Geeot Nuetia of Coronet City after returning from a hunting trip to Dathomir. Our roving reporter went to Dathomir to learn more.

"The Bane Back Spider is a gift to the Spider Clan," says a woman identified only as a Web Dancer,"Its viciousness is a match for our own."

Despite diligent searching, the only pieces that we found were comparable to a spider that is merely 2-3 meters tall.

Imperial scientists have been unavailable for comment, but reports of mutations of other common species have been surfacing on Talus as well.

Corellia Gossip appeared the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[4]

The article of Corellia Gossip "I was attacked by a 50 meter spider!!" appeared on a loading screen that was shown to players after the release of the "Publish 18,"[1] on June 15, 2005.[5] The loading screen was styled as a in-universe newspaper article and introduced the three new creatures (kahmurra blanca, Bane Back spider and painted spat) added to the game with the Publish 18.[1] Killing such creatures rewarded the players with a hunting trophy as decoration for their virtual homes.[3]
