A hypo was a medical tool that was used to administer drugs such as truth serums[1] and sedatives. A hypo was used to administer a strong sedative to the Jedi Lorana Jinzler after she was kidnapped by Brolfi terrorists.[2]
The Galactic Empire also used a hypo, mounted on an IT-O interrogation droid, to administer the truth serum Bavo Six[1] during the interrogation of Princess Leia Organa on the first Death Star, in an attempt to gain the location of the hidden Rebel base from her.[3]
