- "Can your speeder go over water?"
"Uhh, if it's shallow..."
"We gotta deal with that first. My friend Temmin Wexley can get you a hydro-repulsor." - ―Gedeek to Kay Vess
A hydro-repulsor also spelled hyrdorepulsor was a type of repulsor that could be installed on a speeder bike to allow it to travel over deep water. Hydro-repulsors had to be secured to the speeder using durasteel struts in order to remain in alignment and functional.[1]
In 3 ABY,[2] Kay Vess approached Temmin Wexley at a junkyard near Mount Selasa about installing a hydro-repulsor on her S57 Cardinal speeder bike. Having been robbed recently by Surat Nuat's gang, Temmin did not have any durasteel struts to secure the repulsor he had. Vess had him install it anyway so she could make to the island in Lake Amari where the gang took his stolen parts and recover the stolen struts. While chasing after a Sienar-Chall Utilipede Transport that left the island with the parts the hydro-repulsor installed on Vess's bike fell out of alignment. Vess was eventually able to recover the struts and return them to Temmin in Myrra where he used them secure the hydro-repulsor to Vess's speeder.[1]
Behind the scenes
Hydro-repulsors appeared as a speeder upgrade in the 2024 video game, Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. It was part of the game's quest "The Scavenger."[1]
