Hover-ejectors were a type of safety device similar in purpose to parachutes, fabric devices designed for surviving falls through atmosphere.[1] By around 230 BBY,[2] hover-ejectors and similar devices were used with much greater frequency than parachutes, which was commented on by the pilot Leox Gyasi after he used a parachute to survive the destruction of the Starlight Beacon space station when it was made to crash on the planet Eiram.[1]
