The holographic cloaking unit was an evolution of the holographic disguise matrix, a device invented by the Snivvian bounty hunter Sinrich and used during the Clone Wars. The holographic cloaking unit was capable of making its user appear almost entirely invisible, and saw use after the Clone Wars by thieves attempting to make off with artifacts from Coruscant's Imperial Museum.[1]
