This article is non-canon within the canon continuity.

This article covers a subject from a Star Wars: Visions story that Lucasfilm declared is set in an alternate history within a reimagined galaxy.

"It seems a waste to destroy a weapon already forged."
"Better to make it your own. Don't whine. You have the blueprint. And tell me if you're troubled. I didn't like making mine either. But we help each other, Kouru. All right?”"
―Kouru and her master[1]

Holographic blueprints were instructions used when building lightsabers. The Sith constructed lightsabers according to holographic blueprints that were distributed among different cells. These designs were originally created by a Sith with a particular talent for mechanical construction. Auxiliary plans were sent to Kouru shortly after she completed her own lightsaber. She had observed the results of these designs when Kouru's master's lightsaber was rebuilt into a red-bladed weapon.

Behind the scenes

Holographic blueprints were mentioned in the 2021 non-canon novel Ronin: A Visions Novel, by Emma Mieko Candon.[1]
