A hive ball was a type of grand gala thrown by the X'Ting on Ord Cestus. It was held in celebration of important events or to fete important visitors. During the Clone Wars, a hive ball was hosted by Regent G'Mai Duris for the Galactic Republic diplomats, Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Barrister Doolb Snoil.
