Hirsi was a planet on the Cerean Reach in the Mid Rim.

Description

The planet Hirsi was an aquatic world, with much of the surface covered by freshwater lakes, in addition to streams and rivers, which were inhabited by the native Qwohog species, as well as landmasses containing traces of rudic crystals. Qwohog could detect the scents and toxic substances in the water. Basin-pods grew on the surface, and the waters were home to tenidit plants and moss. skitterflies and varieties of fish lived in the lakes, including shellfish.^[3]

History

The native Qwohog, the planet's only intelligent species, lived in communities in almost all of the planet's large lakes, farming freshwater plants and moss. They sent hunting parties ashore to capture lizards and tiny mammals for food, fashioned clothing from tenidit plants, and used shellfish in medicines. Each community was led by a ruling council, with members elected from exclusive highborn families.^[3]

During the Imperial Period, the planet environment was devastated. The planet was subjugated by the Galactic Empire for its rudic crystal mines during the Galactic Civil War.^[3]

The planet was later destroyed by the resurgent Empire's Galaxy Gun during Operation Shadow Hand.^[1]
