- "When the dawn came the Zhell awakened and saw the Taungs upon the high place and were afraid, for the morning light caught the glint of helms and weapons and created phantom warriors, made of dazzle and distance. But the cleverest of them were not deceived, and saw how few we were. And so they assembled without haste, merry in mockery, and prepared to march. And in the high place we awaited death."
- ―An excerpt from the Dha Werda Verda poetic epic
The "high place" was the name of an ancient Taung fortress located on the planet Coruscant, in a time long before the foundation of the Galactic Republic. The fortress displayed the banners[1] of Olhak the Reaver,[2] and was the gathering place of the Taung warriors under Rexutu the Unconquerable as they prepared to clash with the Battalions of Zhell during the battle that would see the Taung take on the name of Dha Werda Verda.[1]
Behind the scenes
The fortress known as the "high place" was first introduced to Star Wars canon in the reference book The Essential Guide to Warfare, co-authored by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart, and published April 3, 2012.
