The Heterkus sector was a sector of space[1] that shared its name with the Heterkus system, a part of the Outer Rim Territories' Tharin sector.[2]
Behind the scenes
The Heterkus sector was mentioned in "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, How I Wonder Where We Are," a 1990 roleplaying game source article written by Glen Allison as a supplement for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game and published in the thirteenth issue of the Voyages SF magazine. The article placed the Heterkus, Kallakea, Kashyyyk, Malkii (spelled as the "Malkite" system in the article), Shador, and Ton-Falk systems in the Heterkus sector. Since that article was released outside of the Lucas Licensing process,[1] it was considered non-canonical with respect to the Star Wars Legends continuity.[3] The StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas has since instead placed all of the abovementioned systems in other sectors.[2]
