A heatbeam was a weapon that fired yellow[2] jets of plasma. Lasers were used to create the plasma, and the weapon produced a superheated exhaust when fired. Soldiers in Xim the Despot's armed forces who carried heatbeams were known as "heatbeamers", and wore fire-proof padded gloves and kamas.[1] Xim's war-robots were armed with heatbeams built into the droid's right gauntlet.[3]
