Haruspexes were fortune-telling entrail-readers from the planet Darlyn Boda. If and when a person presented a haruspex with a freshly killed toccat, the haruspex would give a specific, accurate prophecy regarding the person.
Behind the scenes
Haruspicy, the inspection of the entrails of sacrificed animals, was a practice that began before the rise of the Etruscan and Roman civilizations. Whereas the plural of "haruspex" in real life is "haruspices," the Star Wars universe changes it to "haruspexes."
