Behind the scenes

Happi coats will feature in "The Duel: Payback", a non-canon short film directed by Takanobu Mizuno that will be released as part of the third volume of the Star Wars: Visions series. The animated short, produced by Kamikaze Douga and ANIMA, will be released on Disney+ on October 29, 2025. The happi coat was first pictured and identified as such in a piece of concept art that surfaced in October 2025.^[1] In Japan, happi (法被) are traditional straight-sleeved coats.^[2]
