A Habitation dome was an artificial ecosystem created for occupation in a less than satisfactory environment for sustaining life. Manufactured with its own life support capabilities, these closed ecological systems were not dependent on matter exchange with any part outside the system. Varristad was a mining planet owned by Offworld Mining Corporartion, which utilized large habitation domes as homes for the inhabitants due to Varristad's lack of atmosphere.
