The haalas[1], or cuirass, is a portion of Mandalorian armor that protects the torso and consists of six major components:
- Ghet'bur - gorget, which protects the throat[1]
- Hal'cabure - breastplates, paired between beskad and kal pieces, which protect the chest[1]
- Ka'rta beskar - tapul, also known as the Iron Heart or Mandalorian Diamond, a decorative piece which protects the heart[1]
- Shar'tas - placard, which protects the stomach and innards[1]
- Nor'cabur - backplate, which protects the back and reinforces the weight of the jetpack[1]
