The H-10 was a type of small shuttle manufactured by Sienar Fleet Systems, designed primarily for short intra-system trips, and sometimes referred to as a brig.[2]
The design was very compact, with room for just six typical humanoids including the flight crew, and no enclosed storage compartments of any size.[2]
Originally designed as a troop transport, the H-10 was used by the Galactic Empire before the advent of the Lambda-class T-4a shuttle, and subsequently achieved a second lease of popularity as a civilian vehicle in remote parts of the Galaxy, widely used by both under-resourced planetary governments and smugglers.[1]
The H-10 was ubitqitous enough that in his youth on Tatooine, Luke Skywalker had stripped down and reassembled several transports of this type. By the time of the New Republic, they were considered relatively antiquated, but they remained prevalent as a short-range transport in outlying systems, albeit supported in the role by newer models of Sienar brig.[2]
Seti Ashgad used a Sienar H-10 on Nam Chorios.[2]
Behind the scenes
The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia refers to the H-10 as a "copter", hinting that it used rotors rather than repulsors for planetary flight.
