A type of natural paint ball was grown by the Gungans, an amphibious species from the planet of Naboo. Those organic spheres filled with pigments were farmed in the underwater city of Otoh Gunga, and they were used by the performers of sling painting—including the famous quartet known as the Gungan Sling Brigade. They were somewhat similar in shape to the boomas used by the militiagungs of the Gungan Grand Army.

The Gungan's natural paint balls first appeared in the 2000 educational video game Star Wars: Early Learning Activity Center.
